WHAT'S THE DIFFERENT BETWEEN AN ALL-INCLUSIVE TOUR AND THE BUILD YOUR OWN TOUR (PARTY BUS) OPTION?

All inclusive  tours include transportation, a flight or tasting at each venue, we will coordinate and make reservations with each stop to maximize efficiency and provide a quality experience for you. Additionally, we include photos, snacks, water and a goody bag for your guest of honor.  These tours are priced per person and we choose the venues.

The Build Your Own Tour (Party Bus option) is priced hourly for the shuttle and the driver.  This option includes transportation, photos, snacks, water and a goody bag for your guest of honor.  You will choose your own Delaware venues, make your own itinerary, make your own reservations and pay for your own tasting fees and sever gratuity.  We do not service Maryland at this time but we CAN pick up your group from the 142nd street bus terminal on the Ocean City, Maryland / Fenwick Island, DE state line.  We can help you choose venues close to where group is staying to maximize your time with us.  Here is a map from Delaware Tourism - DE ON TAP.

DO YOU HAVE ANY TOURS FOR A PARTY LESS THAN THE 8 PERSON MINIMUM?

New for 2023!  We are adding 2 public tours for smaller parties.  As long as we reach the 6 person minimum, the tour goes.  The tours are the new Sunday Funday, a 5 hour tour that leaves Dewey Beach and heads to Bethany for live music and drinks.  The 2nd will be the luxury Wine Down Wednesay tour that will visit 2 wine sipping venues and end with a boho style beach picnic, oceanside in Bethany.  A third option is to reserve a private party shuttle if you prefer a private experience to public.

HOW MUCH TIME WILL WE SPEND AT EACH TOUR STOP?
You’ll spend roughly 45–60 minutes at each stop, enjoying tours and tastings.

ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS FOR THE TOUR?
Persons must be at least 21 years of age to participate in all alcohol tastings. Minors may attend but must be accompanied by a person over the age of 21 and remain at least 6 feet away from any tasting Bar. Again, valid ID must be shown at each venue serving alcohol.  Minors will pay for their seat on the tour, but they will not pay for tasting fees.

HOW MANY PASSENGERS ARE ALLOWED?
All tours are private and require a minimum of eight passengers; depending on the tour itinerary. There is a maximum number of 25 guests allowed on each tour. 25 guests will be split between 2 shuttles: a 14 seat shuttle and an 11 seat shuttle.  There is an 8 person minimum for each shuttle on all inclusive tours.

WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
We require 14 days cancellation to receive a deposit refund (less $50 admin fee). Delmarva Discovery Tours reserves the right to cancel tours due to unsafe weather or unfavorable roadways. Consideration for such circumstances is determined by the Owners and Tour Guides. At time of tour cancellation due to said circumstances, all available efforts will be taken to notify the scheduled customers; including call, email or text. Note: Passengers that appear to be intoxicated at beginning of tour, at the discretion of the Tour Guide, will not be allowed on the tour and no refund will be applied.

WHERE DO THE TOURS START?
Private tours offer door-to-door local pickup and drop-off service so we will pick up your party from you home, your AirBNB, your VRBO or your Hotel location.   Public tours pick up in Rehoboth Beach at the Park and Ride on Shuttle Road and along Dagsworthy Street in Dewey Beach.

IF I’M NOT DRINKING, MUST I PAY FOR A TICKET?
Yes, everyone participating in the tour must purchase a ticket. There may be some opportunities to try some great food and non-alcoholic beverages along the way too! Some tours have a reduced fee if you opt to NOT purchase tastings.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
• A valid photo ID: This is a requirement in order to board the bus and will be requested at each location where alcohol is served.
• Extra funds: There are a lot of opportunities to buy locally sourced and produced products, as well as souvenirs along the way!
• Cash: Just in case you feel like sharing a little love with your servers or Delmarva Discovery Tour Guides! (tour responsibly, tip recklessly!).

SHOULD I TIP MY GUIDE AFTER THE TOUR?
Thanks for asking. It’s customary to tip your driver 20%.  Tipping is customary for BOTH the driver and your servers.  For all inclusive tours where we pay for tasting fees, we will collect server gratuity when you book. You are responsible to tip your tips if you select one of our Party Bus / Build Your Own Tour options.  Please be generous with tipping.  The restaurant / tourism industry was hit hard during the COVID pandemic.

AM I ALLOWED TO DRINK ON THE BUS?
Yes, it is legal in Delaware for anyone (over the age of 21) EXCEPT the driver to consume alcohol in a moving vehicle, so leave the driving to us and enjoy yourselves. BYOB is also allowed so long as there’s no red wine or colored beverages that can stain our seats. Additionally, you may purchase beverages along the way that we’ll happily store in the back of the bus until we drop you off at the end of the tour. So remember: to bring that growler, flask, or yeti!  We do encourage you to support the venues you visit.  Their goal is to sell their product.

WILL FOOD BE PROVIDED DURING THE TOUR?
We provide crunchy snacks and bottled water.  You can plan extra time for a food stop. We're happy to make some suggestions or consider ordering a Charcuterie Tray from the award winning First State Charcuterie to bring along.  They pair well with our tours.  This can be delivered to you just prior to your tour.  Many of the venues offer food either onsite or nearby.

CAN I SMOKE ON THE BUS?
NO smoking on the bus. Most venues will have designated smoking areas.

WHAT ARE OUT OF AREA FEES?

For all inclusive beach area tours, we consider any location outside of Dewey, Rehoboth, Lewes, Milton out of area.  There will be a $10pp added fee.  For other tours, we will discuss with you what is considered an out of area pickup.
